Sunken Barries are some of the many activities you can dive into in Horizon Forbidden West. In this case, you'll literally be diving to get to them. If you're a little stuck when it comes to getting past them, here's how to open Sunken Barries in Horizon Forbidden West.
What Sunken Barries Are
Sunken Barries will usually be tied to various other activities in Guerilla's game. They'll be blocking you from entering some Sunken Caverns, which contain Greenshine you need to collect, or planes that contain Black Boxes.
They'll be made up of a collection of rocks, but you'll be able to peer through the gaps. They'll also always be underwater, which you've probably understood from the 'sunken' part. It looks like it can be broken, but they can be a bit confusing to work out.
How to Open Sunken Barriers in Horizon Forbidden West
At face value, Sunken Barriers are easy to open. When approaching one, you will be prompted to hold R2 to 'Pry Open' the wall.
For the most part, that'll come pretty naturally and you'll have no issues, but we've come across others that don't show the prompt very easily or can't be opened from the obvious place.
First of all, try to swim around the opening to get the prompt to pop. If it doesn't, have a look around the area for a different way in to what the Sunken Barrier is blocking. It may have to be opened from the other side.
For example, there's one in the large lake in the middle of Horizon Forbidden West's map and it's blocking a Black Box collectible.
Rather than opening the Sunken Barrier in the obvious place, you'll need to swim to the bottom of the plane, open up the doors, and open the barrier from inside after collecting the items inside. It can be a bit confusing sometimes, but there will always be a way to open them
