XP is fairly easy to come by in Horizon Forbidden West. You get a bunch for completing main story quests, for killing animals, and for helping out the inhabitants of the world. If you're wondering what the max level is in Horizon Forbidden West as you progress, we have the answer for you.
Updated - Max Level Cap in Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West's max level is 50 and it'll take you quite a while to get there.
We reached level 50 with just 50% completion on the in-game stats, meaning there's a lot of XP to earn after you hit level 50.
However, you don't actually get XP once you hit Level 50. The bar in the top right corner of the screen will stop moving and the XP indicator when you kill anything won't show at all.
You get Skill Points to spend every time you level up and have 10 added to your max health every time, too, so you'll get more and more powerful as you reach the max level.
In Horizon Zero Dawn's DLC, The Frozen Wilds, the max level was raised to 60, so there's definetly a chance that the cap will be raised in Horizon Forbidden West sometime in the future.
There are also three trophies to earn, one for hitting level 20, one for level 30, and one for level 50.
How to Level Up Fast
If you want to try and hit the max level in Horizon Forbidden West as soon as possible, there are a few things you can do to earn XP fast.
However, there are two things we'd focus on. The first is Rebel Outposts and Camps, which provide plenty of opportunites for easy human enemy kills. Just one shot to the head and they usually die, granting upwards of 1000 XP. You also get an XP bonus for clearing them and completing the quest.
Otherwise you can simply go machine hunting. The higher level machines can grant up to 5000 XP when you kill them, so you'll level up in no time.
Also, you can lower Horizon Forbidden West's difficulty when you head out to grind XP. It'll help you take down machines really quickly, racking up XP and flying up the levels.
