The release of Ghost of Tsushima's Director's Cut on PS4 and PS5 is right around the corner and Sucker Punch Productions have decided to sucker punch our storage with a huge update. This update does a lot of good stuff, though, and we have everything you need to know ahead of any Patch Notes for the Version 2.04 update.
How big is the Version 2.04 update?
According to Attack of the Fanboy, the Version 2.04 update for Ghost of Tsushima on the PS4 clocks in at a whopping 21GB. It was made available earlier today - August 19th - and you're going to need to download it if you want to transfer your progress between your PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima and the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima when the Director's Cut launches on August 20th.
We're expecting some form of Patch Notes to be released at some point, but for the moment, Sucker Punch Productions hasn't bothered. Single Player games don't often receive Patch Notes in the same way as multiplayer titles like Warzone and Siege do. However, with Legends a prominent part of Ghost of Tsushima's content offerings... Who knows.
It's worth keeping an eye on Ghost of Tsushima's social media channels for more information.
What does this update even do?!
At the moment, we don't know the full extent of what the Version 2.04 update does for Ghost of Tsushima - as we don't have any Patch Notes. What we do know, though, is the following...
From the Sucker Punch Productions Website:
" Starting on August 20 (release date of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut), we’re also releasing an update that will add new features to Legends, including some changes based on feedback from the community. We’ve rebalanced the Survival mode to shorten the session length and added new weekly Survival Nightmare challenge variants. We’ve also unlocked additional cosmetics in Legends for players who’ve earned them in Jin’s story and New Game+."
In addition to this, Sucker Punch clarified some of the following on Twitter:
You can also re-earn Trophies on the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima. Transferring a save should mean you'll automatically earn all the trophies when you load into your save on Ghost of Tsushima on PS5. If you want to re-earn the Platinum Trophy, you'll need to re-enter Photo Mode and re-earn the A Moment In Time Trophy.
As far as we know, the 21GB Version 2.04 update is laying the groundwork for the new Director's Cut content that's due to be released tomorrow - August 20th.
