Genshin Impact Version 4.6 brings a host of exciting new challenges, headlined by a stunning map expansion that houses the formidable new World Boss: the Statue of Marble and Brass. This majestic colossus, a relic of a fallen civilization, now stands guard in a recess of its ruined castle, waiting for a worthy challenger!
Revealed during the Version 4.6 Livestream, this boss drops the coveted Fragment of a Golden Melody upon defeat, a crucial Ascension material for leveling up Arlecchino.
In this guide, we'll delve into everything you need to know about the Statue of Marble and Brass boss fight, including its location, battle strategies, optimal team compositions, and more.
Legatus Golem location
The 4.6 Livestream first revealed the new map expansion for Version 4.6, the fallen Fontainian kingdom of Remuria, the once-thriving civilization that predated the Hydro Archon Egeria. As Remuria's protector, we can expect it to be located within this vast new underwater area.
As 4.6 is now live, you can catch the Statue of Marble and Brass upon progressing the Canticles of Harmony Quest at Petrichol Island. You should be able to unlock the underwater area called “Faded Castle.”
Follow the path going to a door downstairs in the castle and you’ll find some golems along your path to the Waypoint. This makes it easier for you to access locations again in the future. Upon heading further into the path, you’ll then find the Statue of Marble and Brass (also known as the Legatus Golem Boss).
Legatus Golem attack patterns
The Statue of Marble Brass mainly uses an array of Pyro attacks that combine both melee and AoE attacks. With proper timing, you’ll be able to easily evade these attacks and counter the boss.
The Statue of Marble and Brass boasts a diverse arsenal of attacks. At the start, you’ll be attacked with a series of melee combinations such as Pyro sword slashes and downward cleaves. This is also followed by some explosions upon the boss slamming down its shield on the ground.
The start of battle begins with a Geo stomp which deals with physical attack damage to your character. So don’t stand directly in front of the boss at the beginning of the fight. It’s highly recommended to attack the sides of the Statue of Marble and Brass and its behind as it usually uses a lot of front-facing attacks. It becomes fairly easier over time once you’ve got a grasp on the melee attacks and dodge during splash area attacks.
When it comes to its AoE attacks the boss summons a fiery shower of flames, be sure to get out of the splash area immediately when you see it about to play its violin-like weapon or when it charges to use a triple projectile explosion. Moreover, you should be able to break the Geo shield it owns as this will easily down the boss. When a Pylon appears during the fight, break it quickly as it deals increased damage to the Geo shield.
Another thing to note is that between attacks, there’s some window of delay for the Statue of Marble and Brass. This boss isn’t exactly a quick fighter and it uses heavy attacks in which you take advantage of the time the boss needs to launch an attack.
How to defeat the Legatus Golem
While this ancient golem proclaims the immortality and glory of a great civilization, it’s in no way invincible. The Statue of Marble and Brass opens the fight cloaked in a Geo shield. Your key to breaking this defense lies in utilizing Geo Claymore attacks. Once the shield crumbles, it becomes significantly more susceptible to damage. Unleash a flurry of attacks to capitalize on this window of opportunity.
Throughout the battle, it will deploy resonators to amplify its attacks. These resonators can be destroyed with elemental reactions. Destroying them will not only weaken the Statue's offense but also provide valuable openings for your team to counter.
Best team comp for the Legatus Golem
Thankfully, the Statue of Marble and Brass doesn’t have any element that it’s particularly resistant to (around 10% to all elements and physical damage), allowing for more flexibility in team building.
However, while your main and sub-DPS characters can technically be of any element, we strongly recommend taking Geo damage dealers, particularly Geo Claymore users, to break through the boss’s Geo armor at the beginning of the fight.
To destroy its resonators and weaken its defense, you should opt for sub-DPS and supports that can trigger the necessary elemental reactions. Since its resonators are Pyro-based, Hydro or Electro units are recommended.
Here are two potential team compositions to consider, but feel free to adapt based on your character availability and playstyle:
- Noella, Beidou, Fischl, Jean
- Navia, Fischl/Furina, Bennett, Zhongli
