After a ferocious battle, Genshin Impact took home the Player's Voice Award in The Game Awards 2022, the only category chosen entirely by the fans.
The competition was intense until the last minute, with Sonic Frontier and Genshin Impact going toe to toe. But the voting was not exempt from controversy, with strong allegations of Bribery and the use of bots.
Before announcing the winner for this year, Geoff Keighley clarified that the votes count didn't include those made by bots, letting know everything was fair square.
Genshin Impact in the TGA
Unfortunately, the award feels like a consolation prize for Genshin Impact, which was nominated for two other categories this year, Best On-Going Game and Best Mobile Game.
But winning the Player's Voice is not tiny, considering Genshin Impact was competing with Sonic Frontier, Stray, God of War: Ragnarok, and Elden Ring.
In last year's Ceremony, Genshin Impact won the Best Mobile Game, and Hoyoverse rewarded all players for that victory with 1600 Primogems. Fans are hoping something similar happens this year.
Genshin Impact Awards in 2022
A couple of days ago, Genshin Impact won the Grand Award in the Playstation Partner 2022 Ceremony, and players received 800 extra Primogems.
We recommend checking your in-game mail to claim the Free Primogems before the end of the month.
TGA 2022 New Trailer
During the broadcast, Hoyoverse released a trailer for the ceremony. The video includes all the signature characters from each region, Diluc (Mondstadt), Ningguang (Liyue), Ayaka (Inazuma) & Cyno (Sumeru).
We can also see the Wanderer (Scaramouche) in action. The 5-star Anemo character is currently featured in the banner of Genshin Impact 3.3.
But the night's biggest surprise was the first official appearance of Yao Yao, the little girl with a bunny who will be one of the new characters in version 3.4, along with Alhaitham. Both characters are from the Dendro Element.
