Genshin Impact Fontaine Release Date Prediction
Even though we are still months away from the launching of Fontaine, it is possible to speculate on the region's release date based on the debut of previous nations.
For example, Inazuma & Sumeru were released in August, just a month before the Anniversary Patch.
If there are no significant changes in Hoyoverse's plans, we could start seeing the first pieces of official information about Fontaine around June next year, and the official launch in August 2023
What we know about Fontaine
The land of the Hydro Archon is home to the God of Justice, who lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, seeking to judge all other gods according to the Teyvat Storyline Trailer.
Fontaine is inspired by France at the beginning of the 20th Century, as we can see in the names and the outfits of the NPCs from this nation. The people of Fontaine are proud of their elegance, arts, and sophisticated tech.
Conflict in Fontaine
The Hydro Archon arc will be Chapter IV of the Archon Quest, and it will be called: Masquerades from the Guilt.
Liben, in Genshin Impact 3.2, mentioned the following about Fontaine:
- Things feel dangerous and oppressive like a big storm is about to break out.
- Liben thinks locals looked anxious and heard them mention that judgment was soon to come.
- As usual, he recommends refrain and doesn't visit the area, but we know this suggestion will not stop the traveler.
Lyney & Lynnette
The first playable characters we know from Fontaine are Lyney & Lynnette, based on their outfits, they look like performers from a show. Unfortunately, we don't have further details about their possible weapon and vision.
However, one detail to note is that Fontaine is the only nation with two characters featured in the Teyvat Storyline Trailer. Some theories thus believe that Fontaine will introduce the first dual characters, who will battle in pairs. This would be something entirely new for Genshin Impact but not for other Hoyoverse titles like Honkai Impact.
Leakers also believe that the Hydro Archon will be based on Selee, a character from Honkai with an alter ego called Veliona, but as this is speculation, take it with a grain of salt.
Other Rumors About Fontaine
Inside the Genshin Impact Community, there was a considerable amount of unconfirmed and suspicious leaks about the future of Genshin Impact.
Some of them mentioned that Fontaine will have a region underwater and that we will travel on a sophisticated transportation that resembles a submarine capsule.
Considering Fontaine is the Hydro Nation, the rumors make a bit of sense, but for now, they are just rumors, and we will have to wait a bit longer to know more confirmed details about the region.

Qiaoying Village
Like the Chasm, Qiaoying, the Northwest Liyue Village, will reportedly be a transitional region connecting the story between Sumeru and Fontaine.
Zhongli and Liben mention that the area is known for the best tea in Teyvat and Recent leaks revealed the Village is built around a water channel, just like Jiangnan in China.
The river that crosses Qiaoying leads to Fontaine being one of three borders with the Hydro Nation. According to the leak, we will visit this Village in Genshin Impact 3.6.
