Genshin Impact is an adventure-RPG that has been likened to The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.
It is a free-to-play game made by Chinese developer miHoYo.
The game is also cross-platform and up to 4 player co-op on PC, PS4, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
How To Level Up
Being an RPG, players need to level up to make their characters stronger to handle the later parts of the game.
There are numerous ways it can be done, from items to fighting.
Killing enemies grants EXP, but not as much as other methods.
But over time you will level up naturally as you fight more enemies.
The best way though it is to use various EXP materials that are found around Teyvat.
- Wanderer's Advice is worth 1,000 EXP
- Adventurer's Experience is worth 5,000 EXP
- Hero's Wit is worth 20,000.
These can be found in treasure chests and also given as rewards for finishing quests and Domains.
Adventurer's Experience can be farmed by activiating the Blossom of Revelation Ley Line Outcrops that are dotted around the map.
Activating one will spawn a bunch of enemies to fight.
Once they've been taken care of you can claim a reward of around 13 Adventurer's Experience in exchange for 20 Resin.
All of these items can be used from the Level Up screen.
When you click the button you will be asked which items to use.
Select the items and your characters will level up.
Upcoming 1.1 Update
Ahead of the 1.1 update, this is a great time to start levelling up your character to prepare for the new challenges and quests that will be added with the update.
The 1.1 update will add four new characters to the game, two 5-star and two 4-star.
Childe is a 5-star hydro archer that can switch between melee and ranged attacks.
Zhongli is a 5-star polearm wielder and has the ability to petrify enemies, along with high defense and strong area-of-effect attacks.
Xinyan and Diona are 4-star characters, but their information hasn't been released yet, but have been said to be use elemental combos and effect combat strategies.
A new seasonal event will be added in the update titled "Unreconciled Stars".
The event will "call on all players to fight back against a sudden and terrible catastrophe facing Teyvat."
The event will add new 2 week long quests and co-op challenges and will grant players rewards, such as the 4-star character Fischl.
Is Genshin Impact Coming To Playstation 5?
The 1.1 update is due to be released on November 11th, the day before the PS5 launches in select regions.
Part of the update will be adding compatibility for the Playstation 5.
Genshin Impact will run on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
Meaning it will run the PS4 version of the game rather than its own PS5 build.
However, the game will benefit from better graphics and improved loading times, like many backwards compatible games for both the PS4 and Xbox One.
