Genshin Impact's developer miHoYo has revealed their latest IP, the virtual actress Lumi.
Since Lumi's first appearance online earlier this year, she has attracted millions of views on YouTube as a Vtuber.
What Is A Vtuber?
A VTuber (Virtual YouTuber) is an "online entertainer that uses a digital avatar generated using computer graphics."
Virtual YouTubers first appeared in the 2010s, primarily in Japan, and have since gained popularity both in Japan and around the world.
Currently there are around 10,000 active VTubers on the website and is becoming more popular in the west, with streamers and content creators creating their own digital avatar to become an extension of themselves.
VTubers currently earn around 1.5 billion views per month on YouTube.

Who Are miHoYo
miHoYo is a Chinese video game developer, best known for developing Genshin Impact.
Since launching in 2012, the studio has gone from three employees to over 1,500.
Genshin Impact left beta in September 2020 and has since gone on to become one of the biggest games in the world, generating over $6 million per day in revenue.
The game has already become one of the top 50 highest grossing mobile games of all time.
Genshin Impact is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, iOS, and Android, with a Nintendo Switch port planned in the future.
It is also completely free to play too, with optional micro-transactions.

miHoYo Reveal Lumi
miHoYo have revealed their first ever live virtual character.
Created using motion capture technology and Epic Games' Unreal Engine, miHoYo have been able to make Lumi come to life with vivid detail.
Lumi's movements and facial expressions were made possible using motion capture, while Unreal Engine's flexibility has allowed realistic skin textures, appearance and performances.
Since debuting on YouTube in May 2020, Lumi has accumulated over 10 million views and now will be getting their own mobile app.

N0va Desktop
On December 18th, the N0va Desktop app will be released for Android devices, allowing fans to take Lumi wherever they go.
The app will come with live desktop wallpapers and short videos, as well as giving fans access to live streams and other ways to interact with the VTuber.
N0va Desktop is already available for PC users and can be downloaded here.
The N0va Android app is due to be released on December 18th and users can pre-register for the app here.
