The latest version of Genshin Impact is almost upon us. The details of the massively popular gacha game's upcoming 5.0 update have been revealed in the 5.0 Special Program Livestream.
This patch adds a host of fresh content to the game, such as a brand new region, several dashing characters, Archons Quests, events, and more! With the fourth anniversary of the game, players will also enjoy several benefits introduced in Genshin Impact 5.0.
When is Genshin Impact 5.0 Releasing?
Version 5.0 of Genshin Impact will be released on August 28, 2024, at 4 am BST. The new banners will be available until 17th September 2024.
In the first phase of the banners, players will be able to wish for the following characters:
- Mualani (5-star Hydro)
- Kazuha (5-star Anemo)
- Kachina (4-star Geo)
The second phase, which begins on 17th September, and lasts until 8th October, will feature the following characters:
- Kinich (4-star Dendro)
- Raiden Shogun (5-star Electro)
Genshin Impact 5.0 New Quests, Events, QoL Improvements
As for the new Archon Quest, it will have two parts: Act I and Act II. Players who progress through the story will receive a copy of the 4-star character Kachina for free, in addition to 500 Primogems!
Users will be able to play the Story Quests for Mualani and Kinich which will be released in the new update. Additionally, there will be a new Main World Quest, Boss, and Artifact sets.

On the event of the fourth anniversary of Genshin Impact, players will receive the following rewards:
- 1,600 Primogems
- Sanctifying Elixir
- 2 Fragile Resin
- Firstborn Firesprite
- Kaboom Box
Other QoL (Quality of Life) improvements in Genshin Impact 5.0 include:
- You can proceed directly to the Natlan Archon Quest after completing the Liyue Archon Quest and reaching AR28.
- Upon reaching AR58, you have the option to increase your World Level to 9.
- When discarding artifacts, Sanctifying Essence will be returned instead of Mora.
- If you lose a 50/50, your chances of getting an early 5-star on the guaranteed pull increase slightly, and the animation will be different. Additionally, the Fate points needed for the weapon banner will be reduced to one.
- Every anniversary, players will have the option to choose a free standard 5-star character.
