miHoYo's Twitter Account has had a busy morning revealing many details for the upcoming Genshin Impact updates, just hours before ver 2.4 preloading became available.
This includes miHoYo making the official announcement of Yae Miko as the new 5-star character for Genshin Impact 2.5!
Here's what we now officially know about Yae Miko including her release date and more.
Release Date
Genshin Impact 2.5 is expected to go live on February 16, 2022, running until March 30, 2022.
Based on previous releases, we can expect Yae Miko to be part of the First Phase character banners. Furthermore, in the following hours, we can also expect the announcement of Kuki Shinobu, Arataki Itto's sidekick, a 4-star electro character.
Yae Miko Arrival
Yae Miko, the Head Priestess of Narukami Shrine and Guardian of the Sacred Sakura Tree, have played a vital role in the story archon. Become an Instant Favorite for her beauty but also for her Wittiness.
However, it has been a couple of months since the last time we knew about her. So, is it too late for her arrival? Well, only the time could tell.
Yae Miko Weapon and Element
By the vision in Yae Miko's costume, we know she is an Electro Character. However, miHoYo decided to change things a little and not show her weapon.
However, this could indicate Miko is a Catalyst user, as they sometimes appear in splash art wielding no weapon. So we will have to wait a little longer.

Genshin Impact 2.5 Banners
The ver. 2.4 will feature the last Liyue and Mondstadt characters without a re-run, opening the possibility of seeing the return of Inazuma Characters.
Particularly, Kujou Sara and Raiden Shogun, two characters very close to Yae Miko. If this is accurate, Yae can be the last piece for a possible Mono Electro Team.
In the same way, Gorou and Arataki Itto were the last part of the Mono Geo Team in Genshin Impact 2.3.
Rumors indicate that Kazuha is also making an appearance in Genshin Impact 2.5. With three re-run banners for an update, this is highly possible.
