Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting a free title update on July 29 and, although Nintendo of America has been pretty quiet about what's coming, we know a little bit about what to expect in the next few days. Here's the latest.
Seasonal Event Details
The Japanese-language Nintendo site has called the new Animal Crossing event both the "New Year's Forest" and "New Clothes Forest" event, so there is a bit of confusion over the official name of the event. However, we do know what's coming...
Regular Fireworks Shows
Every Sunday night, a Fireworks display is going to be held on your Animal Crossing island. This is only limited to August, though, so make sure you tune in to see them.
Redd's Lottery Update
In addition to this, three new items are being added to Redd's Lottery's prize selection: Cotton Candy, a Popsicle, and a Tapioca Drink (aka. Bubble Tea).
Create-Your-Own Fireworks
You can also create your own Fireworks during this event and launch them whenever you'd like. All you need to do is hand your design over to Isabelle in the Plaza and she'll take care of the rest.
"Musi Tori" Tournament
The Japanese-language Nintendo site also mentions the Musi Tori tournament will run on both August 4th and September 4th. More details about what this means will be available soon.
New Nook's Cranny Items
On top of all this seasonal content, Nook's Cranny is going to be getting a few new items...
"Obon" Item Sales
"Obon" is said to be the day when a person's ancestors return from the Spiritual World to this one. To celebrate, between August 10th and August 16th, both the "Cucumber Horse" and "Eggplant Cow" will be available to purchase.
"Mid-Autumn Moon" Item Sales
The Mid-Autumn Moon, also known as Jugoya, is due to arrive on September 21st. To celebrate, Nintendo is going to be releasing a number of themed items between September 12th and September 21st. You can get a taste of what's in-store in the image below.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is going to get more free content throughout 2021; The free July 29 update is just the start.
