Football Manager 2023 on PS5 is finally here, with the game arriving on Sony consoles for the very first time.
It had been a long time coming, but fans of FM are excited to finally see this edition of the game arrive on console.

Football Manager 2023 enters a sphere of gaming that lacks clear competition.
FIFA has been the dominant force in the console football gaming circuit for some time, with games like eFootball yet to live up to their early promise.
With that in mind, Sports Interactive was tasked with the difficult balance of delivering a game that was both in-depth and immersive, whilst also increasing the speed and stripping away some of the fluff.

Winter Update Available NOW
The Football Manager 2023 Main Data Update went live on Thursday, 2 March, bringing a host of major changes to the game.
The FM23 Winter Update is highly anticipated every year as it brings new transfers, gameplay updates and bug fixes to the game. Changes in the 23.3 update include, but are not limited to:
- Stability and crash fixes
- Fixes to reduce mistakes from bad touches in certain areas of the pitch
- Fixes to defenders not preparing correctly for crosses in certain situations
- Improvements to defender reaction to long through balls
- Tweaks to make attacking players move quicker to support counter-attacks
- Improvements to how AI managers use different midfield role combinations
- Improvements to central defender and defensive midfielder positioning from long goal kicks
- Improvements to how attacking wide players track back when defending
- Fixes for defending wide indirect free kicks at the edge of the area
- 'Header won' statistic now only counts contested headers
- Improvements to the Recruitment Focus logic
- Fixed cases of reserve or youth team tactics appearing blank in the Development Centre
- Tweaks to development loans for AI teams
- Improvements to fixture scheduling, particularly the frequency of consecutive home or away games
- Updated substitution rules across various competitions
Not only that, some of football's biggest stars have seen huge upgrades in the most recent Football Manager 2023 update.
New Features
It looks like PS5 has joined the FM lineup at the right time, with some great new features introduced for the newly named FM23 Console edition of the game.
With the title now available on PS5 as well as Xbox, the Console version of the game will cater specifically to those gamers.
FM23 will make some changes to the Recruitment process and also introduce fresh terminology to the Tactical Instructions.
New features specifically coming to the Console version are:
- Matchdays - They will have a more 'hands-on' feel, with new radical menus to better influence the match
- Touchline Tablet - Has been remodelled to be the go-to place for match actions
- Out of Possession Tactical Instructions - Changes introduced in FM23 are incorporated into the FM23 Console version
- Team Talks - Added to a console edition for the first time and available at half-time and full-time
- Recruitment Focuses - An evolution of the Assignments previously available, will make recruitment more accessible
- Dynamic Manager Timeline - Track your progression as a manager with highlighted milestones and achievements

Release Date
The highly-anticipated launch of Football Manager on PS5 has finally been announced, with the game launching on Wednesday, 1 February.
Despite an original release date in early November, FM23's launch on PS5 was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.
