Read on to discover who the best Portuguese wonderkids on FIFA 22 are.
What makes a wonderkid?
For a real wonderkid, you have to be a teenager upon FIFA 22's release, so that means Joao Felix and Pedro Neto will not be on the list!
Nuno Mendes (OVR 78 - POT 88)
Nuno Mendes is currently on loan at PSG, who have an option to buy the player, and it looks like they should with LB being their weakest area on the pitch.
He is rapid and equally good at defending and attacking, with a potential of 88 OVR meaning he could become one of the best around.
Goncalo Inacio (OVR 76 - POT 86)
An injury put him out for a few games this season, but now Goncalo Inacio is back having worked hard to secure a regular starting spot at Sporting.
Not only is he good defensively, he can pass the ball well and has 79 PAC, which will make him a popular choice to sign.
Francisco Conceicao (OVR 70 - POT 86)
Francisco Conceicao is getting some first-team action for Porto, but mainly as a substitute.
Due to his small stature, he got compared to Lionel Messi in the Portuguese media.
No pressure there then!
Joelson Fernandes (OVR 68 - POT 84)
Already with 89 PAC and 76 DRI, Joelson Fernandes can already cause danger.
He needs his end product to improve, so get him on the right development program to turn him into a top talent.
Rodrigo Gomes (OVR 63 - POT 83)
He has played very little football, but EA is predicting good things for Rodrigo Gomes.
There is still plenty of time for him to develop, but from his initial stats, it looks like he may not become quick enough for the wing.
Fabio Silva (OVR 70 - POT 83)
Wolves took a big gamble when they spent a club-record fee to bring in the then 17-year-old.
Fabio Silva hasn't lit up the Premier League, but it is also very early to judge how good he could be.
A potential of 83 OVR seems fair.
Eduardo Quaresma (OVR 71 - POT 83)
Eduardo Quaresma has the potential to become a solid CB, and although he isn't massively tall, his 80 Jumping and 75 Strength will help him become good in the air.
Don't make him run too much though, as he only has 38 Stamina!
Tiago Tomas (OVR 74 - POT 82)
82 OVR may not be the best potential, but Tiago Tomas could become a great striker to use in the game.
77 PAC, 71 PHY, 71 SHO and 74 DRI is a very good base to work from, with those attributes just getting better over the seasons.
Goncalo Esteves (OVR 65 - POT 82)
He has played just 64 minutes at club level, but Goncalo Esteves has represented the Portugal national side at youth level 15 times.
He is pretty comfortable on the ball and with decent defensive stats, but he might not excel enough in one area to be truly outstanding.
Herculano (OVR 63 - POT 81)
We're hoping that with 80 PAC and 74 Strength Herculano turns into an absolute beast.
There is a lot of improvement needed, but he could become a decent target man in the future.
