EA Sports FC has announced some major changes to the Weekend League in FC 25, with fewer games, a harder qualifying process, and much better rewards.

These changes make the mode the most competitive it has been in years, but not all players are fans of them, with some in the EA FC community complaining the mode will become too hard.

So let's find out all the changes coming to the Weekend League in FC 25.

Fewer Games and Harder to Qualify

In FC 25, the Weekend League has 15 matches, five less than FC 24, and players must win three out of five playoff games to qualify for it.

This makes it harder for players to qualify for the mode, but that was exactly the developer's goal, as Weekend League is a mode made for the best of the best.

If Weekend League is accessible to everyone, it stops being special and becomes just another mode, which unfortunately is what happened in the last couple of years.

Developers said the following about these changes:

"Last year, we think we made the Champions Finals too accessible, particularly to lower-skill players", "This year, Champions will not only be more challenging, but it will be more rewarding for higher-skilled players."

It's understandable why many players are upset about these changes but EA Sports actually did the right thing here. The Weekend League isn't supposed to be for everyone, it's a competitive mode where only the best FC 25 players should be able to enter.

The changes to the playoff game format ensure only the best get into the Weekend League while having to play fewer games makes all the games matter much more, which makes the mode more competitive.

Rewards Have Finally Been Improved

While it's now harder to enter the Weekend League, its rewards are arguably the best they have ever been.
