The first promo of FC 25 has been revealed and it's none other than Road To The Knockouts, one of the most popular promos of the EA FC franchise.

This promo is built around the three major European club competitions, the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. Road To The Knockouts introduces great cards that can get upgrades depending on how their teams perform in the competition.

FC 25 Road To The Knockouts Cards

The Road To The Knockouts promo will have two teams, which will be released separately. The first team arrived at FC 25 on Friday 27 September, while the second team arrived at Ultimate Team on Friday, 4 October, and introduced some great cards.

These cards are from players whose clubs are competing in one of the three major European club competitions, including the Women's Champions League. All of the Road To The Knockouts Team 1 cards can be seen in the image below, while the Team 2 cards have been leaked, and can be checked here.

One of the cards, Diogo Jota, will be earnable via a SBC. Some of the cards will be earnable from objectives, such as Nicolás Otamendi However, most cards will only be earnable by promo packs.

The Road To The Knockouts card's attributes are slightly better than the player's standard card, as it's visible in the image above. But these cards can become even better, as they can receive upgrades to their attributes, ratings, and even new PlayStyles, depending on how their team performs.

How Road To The Knockouts Upgrades Work

The Road To The Knockouts cards can receive a total of three upgrades. Players will get a 1 OVR upgrade after their team wins three games in the league, a 1 OVR and role++ when their teams score over one goal in more than four matches, and one PlayStyle and role++ if their teams finish top two in the league.

The first upgrade is by far the easiest one to achieve, while the other two can be quite tricky. But this all depends on the team, players such as Bellingham, Alvarez, or Doku, have a great chance of completing the three upgrades, as Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool, are favorites to finish in the top two.

However, players such as Otamendi, Posch, André, or Lang, will most likely not get all the upgrades, as it's unlikely their teams finish top two in the league, and even the second upgrade can prove hard to achieve.

The fact that the league phase of all three competitions only finishes in January can mean these cards will become outdated quickly, so it's unlikely any of these players will be among the most meta players in FC 25, at least for long.
