The ever-popular Dreamhack Fortnite tournaments returned yesterday and the next round of Heats begins today for the EU server. The structure of each tournament varies depending on which servers you are playing on.
We have all of the details, dates, prizes, basically, everything you need to know to get prepared and stake your claim for the top prize in the Dreamhack Fortnite event.
Latest - It's not too late to register!
The third session of Heats begins today in the EU servers for the DreamHack Open. You can still register for the competition to give yourself a chance at something from the $200,000 prize pot.
DreamHack Open Suffers Short Delay
The DreamHack Open has suffered a small delay of half an hour. The reason for the delay is currently unknown but could be to do with server stability ahead of the incredibly popular tournament.
August Dreamhack Fortnite Dates
The August Dreamhack Fortnite tournament will take place between 11-19 August. The tournament will have the following structure for European servers;
- Heats 1 and 2 - 11 August - 6pm-12am CEST
- Heat 3 - 12 August - 6-9pm CEST
- Semi-Finals - 18 August - 7-10pm CEST
- Grand Finals - 19 August - 7-11pm CEST
The NA East servers will follow a slightly different structure;
- Heats - 11 August - 7-10pm EDT
- Semi-Finals - 12 August - 7-10pm EDT
- Grand Finals - 19 August - 7-11pm EDT
August Dreamhack Fortnite Format
The format for the August Dreamhack Fortnite even will be Duos. Like in previous tournaments, 500 duos will advance from each heat with a maximum of 10 games played during the heats.
Semi-Finals take place with the top 50 duos advancing to the final. Again, there is a maximum of 10 games that can be played in this timeframe. The Grand Final will then be six consecutive games played, a new game starting every 35 minutes.
Once these final games are complete, scores are tallied, rankings determined and prizes handed out.

August Dreamhack Fortnite Prizes
The August Dreamhack Fortnite tournament will follow the same prize structure as previous duos tournaments. A total prize pool of $200,000 is available for both regions.
