Fortnite Update 17.20 Is Live

After weeks of anticipation, the Fortnite 17.20 update is now live. We've had some smaller hotfixes over the last few weeks but it's finally time for the bigger content update to drop.

We have seen some leaks regarding features that will be implemented and can't wait to see what arrives in the final version of the patch.

LATEST - Fortnite Servers Back Online

The Fortnite servers are back online following update 17.20. This update brings us the highly anticipated preferred item slots feature as well as a slew of new content such as the return of Birdie skin.

There is also an event being teased with in-game posters and a rainbow that can be seen over the horizon on the island. Could this be hinting at the rumoured Ariana Grande in-game live concert?

Downtime Has Begun For Fortnite Update 17.20

Server downtime has begun for the Fortnite Update 17.20! We've learnt little bits and pieces about the update in recent weeks and we'll get to check out the whole patch very soon.

Fortnite Update 17.20 Due For Release Next Week

According to popular Fortnite leaker @HYPEX, the 17.20 update will now drop tomorrow, July 20.

Earlier last week it was confirmed that the weekly update would again just be a content drop and possible hotfix rather than the 17.20 update.

Now, we're ramping up to the full update release, which is pretty exciting.

Preferred Item Slots Coming

According to Ali-A, and numerous other outlets, it looks like the long-requested Preferred Item Slots feature is coming to Fortnite in Update 17.20. Following the update, you should be able to select where each item is placed in your loadout.

For example, you will be able to select Health / Shields in Slot 5 and this means the first item you pick up will automatically be placed in this slot. This should help players further familiarise themselves with what they need to select when they're playing and help avoid inventory organisation mid-game.

It's a small feature, but one that a lot of people will find useful and we can't wait to see how it affects gameplay going forwards.

Epic Tease Next Update - Aliens Are Coming

An Alien invasion has taken over Fortnite, and it's only getting more dire in the next update!

Epic Games have teased the next step in Fortnite Season 7 and its story with some images showing evidence of Aliens with text suggesting they're pushing forward fast.

With the teaser, the Fortnite 17.20 update could be right around the corner.
