Diablo 4 is finally just a few months from release, and it's been a long time coming. We've had a chance to see more of the game than ever before, as Blizzard gave us a ton of new intel at The Game Awards to follow on from their release date announcement.
With a little while still to go until release, we now have a good idea of when we'll be able to get our hands on Diablo 4 through beta periods. As usual, there will be a way to get in a little bit quicker than everyone else! Here's everything you need to know.

Diablo 4 release date
Diablo 4 is set to be released on Tuesday, 6 June 2023. This follows a shadow delay that could have seen it released in 2022, but no dates were ever confirmed for this.
We're seeing more and more from the game and expect that in the lead-up to release there will be ample opportunities to play the game in various beta offerings.
Diablo 4 early access & betas
We know that there will at the very least be one open beta period for Diablo 4 as it has been advertised through marketing material. In addition to this, we know that pre-ordering the game will grant early access to these open betas.
The benefit of this really only extends to not having the queue up if servers get busy. You also get a head start on other players but it's unlikely that progress will carry over into the main game.
It's entirely possible that a closed beta period will also take place early in 2023. This is likely to be available via a sign-up option but nothing is officially confirmed just yet.
Developer streams
It's expected that the Diablo 4 team will run regular community update live streams between now and the release. This gives them a chance to drip-feed new content to fans of the game while giving themselves a clean platform to talk about new and exciting features.
While there's no expectation that massive features will change this late in development, it's possible that tweaks can be made based on community feedback. In truth, no one will really understand these features until they go hands-on with them in beta gameplay anyway so such changes may be saved for post-release updates.
