How to Get Corrupted Key Codes in Destiny 2

Once again, a new item to collect has been added to Destiny 2 for everyone to hunt for.

You'll need Corrupted Key Codes to get decent loot in this season, so grabbing them is vital. Below, we've got everything you need to know about how to do so and what they do.

What Corrupted Key Codes Do in Destiny 2

They're kind of self explanatory, but you'll need Corrupted Key Codes to unlock the chests you'll find having beaten the boss in Expunge Missions.

Without the codes, which drop as items to be picked up, you won't be able to grab the loot and Decrypted Data from the chests that spawn.

Therefore, we'd recommend finding yourself a code before heading into Expunges, so that you get the most out of them.

How to Get Corrupted Key Codes in Destiny 2

This is where it gets a little tricky. It seems like Corrupted Key Codes are very. very rare in Destiny 2.

They seem to drop from any AI controlled enemy in any place and any mission type in Destiny 2, so you'll simply have to keep playing and hope that they fall.

There have been reports of them dropping from all mission types, so don't worry about switching it up or focusing on one in particular. Just keep playing whatever you'd like and hopefully you're lucky.

As an example, our friends over at Gfinity Esports had theirs drop during during a Nightfall mission.

Once you've found one and picked it up, you'll be able to make the most of the Expunge missions and continue on with the Season of the Splicer guide.

It's not clear as of yet how many you can find this week, how many you can hold at once, and how many chests you can open, but that's down to them being very rare and players finding it tough to find them. Hopefully we'll have more information soon.
