The developers of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 have just announced that the release date is delayed further.
The game will now release on December 10, 21 days after the current release date.
This news will come as a shock to many, as the studio appeared to be ready for a next-gen release window.
Let’s take a look at what the team behind the game had to say!
The delay
The game is delayed until December 10, with the reasons being that they have to test the game on so many platforms.
With the release across current-gen, next-gen, PC and more, 9 different versions of the game need to be stress-tested.
Despite the game already going gold, the title does not mean that the developers are ready for the game to release.
As such, the team behind the game have also stated that they have not stopped raising the quality of the game.

This increase in quality, and the need for perfection for such an awesome title, will no doubt have added to the delay further.
The Announcement
This news was all announced on the game's twitter page.
It made sure to focus on apologising for the delay, as well as providing reasons for 3 week extension.
Despite being only 21 days, the team are certain that these days will prove pivotal for the game.
The announcement also owns up to a fault on their part.
What went wrong?
The delay is not only being seen for the aforementioned reasons, but also for a time miscalculation.
In the announcement graphic, the team cites the Day 0 patch as being necessary.
This Day 0 patch includes improvements to the game following the certification of Going Gold.
It is this period of time that the team is said to have underestimated, leading to further delays.
Pre-order and price
Despite the delay, we still have high hopes for the game, as this should allow them to perfect the title.
That being said, we hope to be playing the game on December 10!
