When can you download Cyberpunk 2077's next major title update - Patch 1.3?

This article contains information about the 'release-date' of either a movie, game or product. Unless stated explicitly, release dates are speculative & subject to change. See something wrong? Contact us here

It's safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't really at the place it should be right now. That doesn't mean CD Projekt RED aren't trying to make progress, though. The release of Patch 1.3 marks the largest post-launch update Cyberpunk 2077 has seen and there's a lot on offer. Here's when you can play it...

UPDATE - It's out right now!

CDPR made a strangely large deal about avoiding a release date for Patch 1.3 during their REDstreams development insight, but now Patch 1.3 has been released and you can download the new update on all platforms.

It clocks in at well over 30GB on PC versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and we're expecting that this is going to be something similar on console versions of the game - which have a lot more problems. You can find the patch notes in the Tweet below:

When does Patch 1.3 come out?

At the moment, we don't know. CDPR don't really have a release schedule, with their Cyberpunk 2077 updates being sporadic at the best of times. This makes it pretty hard to predict when an update is going to drop.

With that being said, we could see this update drop as early as today! It would be unlikely, but CDPR is hosting a REDstreams Twitch stream later today that should highlight some of the changes coming to Cyberpunk 2077 in the next update and give us the Patch 1.3 release date and time.

We're expecting Patch 1.3 to arrive on August 18th or August 19th, but we could find ourselves surprised. Only time will tell.

What are we expecting to see from Patch 1.3?

Ahead of their REDstream, CDPR has shared a Development Insight that highlights a handful of interesting changes they're hoping to make in Cyberpunk 2077's Patch 1.3 and beyond...

  • New Minimap System Changes
    • Should offer better navigation and visibility;
  • Changes to UI Videos
    • Players should better understand their story decisions going forwards;
  • New Perk Features
    • Gameplay should reward experimentation with Cyberware going forwards;

Of course, a new Mini-Map would be good but a lot of players are wondering where the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 is and when they can play CDPR's futuristic RPG in 4K. Cyberpunk 2077 looks blurry at the best of times on consoles and we're expecting to hear an update regarding the development of this alongside the Patch 1.3 release date.
