In the absence of any official update from Nintendo, plenty of rumours and speculation has started to spread on Breath of the Wild 2.
A verified streamer has been spreading a lot of rumours since the latest Nintendo Direct Mini broadcast, and some of them have got us thinking.
While we can't take them as the truth, but some statements stand in line with the changes that we are expecting to see in the sequel.
To find out how the map could look when the greatly-anticipated title drops, continue reading.
Ganon is back
One particular rumour seems to have gained traction since it has come from a verifiable Twitch streamer, Tyler McVicker.
SAVE ME, LINK! The core focus of BOTW was breaking down Ganon's influence over Hyrule
Known for running the Valve News Network YouTube channel, McVicker's claim to fame was uncovering news about Half-Life: Alyx years before rumours began to circulate.

McVicker has been sharing information about Nintendo’s sequel on a ‘Gaming Leaks and Rumours’ subreddit, so continue below for what he had to say:
“Unlike the first part, the game will be linear at the beginning. Canonically, Link already knows Hyrule, so there is no point in climbing the towers again.”
So, this time around, Link will have already recaptured a lot of his memories, so he will have to pass time doing something other than discovering new locations.
Map Changes
Instead of the storyline continuing somewhere else, Link and Zelda's fate is bound to Hyrule in the series.
DUNGEONS: The most recent trailer featured Link and Zelda exploring a dungeon, before we see an ancient warrior rising from the dead...
But how will the gaming experience deliver on exploration in the same way as the original without new locations?
Well, the leaker had a little more to reveal.
“The developers have filled the world with a miasmic version of Ganon, and until the infection is cleared from location to location, it will be impossible to move around the entire Hyrule.”
Another angle that could be explored would be the introduction of dungeons since the closest thing we got to these in BOTW was the Shrines.
It should go without saying that this speculation should be taken with a big pinch of salt, but considering the leaker's reputation, we don't know what to think.
Other News
We have been waiting for an official statement from Nintendo to confirm building suspicions on a playable Zelda.
ONE OF MANY PATHS: The introduction of co-op play would surely spice up the experience of the sequel!
A couple of French gaming websites (Nintendo Town and Jeux Video) have implied that Zelda will become a playable character in the upcoming game, but we can't take their word on it.
However, we do hope that some standalone DLC focused on Zelda is under discussion at Nintendo!
