Breath of the Wild 2 has been the talk of the Nintendo community ever since it was announced in 2019, but since then, relatively little has been revealed.
We have no idea what the new map will look like, if Zelda will become a playable character, or if a new form of evil will take over from Ganon's despotic rule.
Here, we will cover everything to do with the main antagonist, Ganon, as well as what new evil could be in store for the sequel.
Is that Ganon in the trailer?
As always, Reddit is the hotbed for breaking new BOTW theories!
A QUICK TASTER: The trailer didn't give much away, but there were some teasers hidden in plain sight
Now, this one might be a long shot, but there are plenty of valid points which suggest that there is some truth to the claims.

In the latest BOTW 2 trailer, we see Link and Zelda making their way though a dungeon.
SICKO MODE: Not everyone spotted this, but luckily one Redditor did
Very quickly we see that they are not alone, as the mummified corpse of an ancient warrior becomes re-animated!
Another Reddit user chimes in to support the author's claims, but what information does this provide us about Ganon's role in the sequel?
Who is Ganon?
Ganon is the main antagonist and penultimate boss in Breath of the Wild, found at Hyrule Castle.
DIFFERENT FORMS: Ganon's phantoms come in all shapes and sizes
Ganon first emerged a long time ago, but was defeated by an army of Guardians the Divine Beasts.

Four phantoms of Ganon were sent to corrupt the Divine Beasts and slay their Champions, while using his own dark power to take control of the Guardians against the people of Hyrule.
Link was badly injured and near death following this assault, and placed by Zelda in the Shrine of Resurrection to heal.
After entrusting the Master Sword to the Great Deku Tree, Zelda used her power to seal both herself and Ganon within Hyrule Castle - an event called the 'Great Calamity'.
While Link remained in his slumber for 100 years, Ganon bode his time within his prison, draining Zelda's divine power in an attempt to gain the strength to break free.
Link's resuscitation and subsequent amnesia leads him on a course to recapture all of his previous memories, and to confronting various different forms of Ganon in a bid to save Zelda.
Breath of the Wild ends with Link defeating calamity Ganon and saving Zelda, which takes us completely up to date.
A new antagoist?
Reddit theories have been swirling that Ganon will not be the main antagonist in the next title.
SAVE ME, LINK! The core focus of BOTW was destroying Ganon’s influence in Hyrule
It has been confirmed he will be in the game, but we are unclear on in what setting.

In a since-deleted post, a Redditor stated that they believe Ganondorf will not be the villain of the game.
They claimed they were speaking to a Nintendo insider, although there was no evidence to back this claim up.
“Apparently, the game takes place directly after the original BotW as we expected, and as we assumed, it is going to show Link and Zelda rebuilding Hyrule while also dealing with a new threat (He didn’t say much other than that it isn’t Ganon directly).”
The leaker also nudges the idea that there may be a flashback to before when Link started his 100 year slumber.
At this point, it's anyone's guess.
