Apex Legends Season 16 is now well underway, and a ton of new content has arrived with the update. Battle royale games are one of the most popular genres right now, and that doesn't look set to change any time soon. If you haven't had a chance to try Apex yet, here's how you can.
Warzone 2 has recently seen the introduction of proximity chat in Al Mazrah. While some games have followed suit, others are yet to. The feature certainly provides some entertaining clips, but it does have its downside. Here's everything you need to know about whether it will arrive in Apex Legends.

What is Proximity Chat?
Proximity chat is a way to communicate with other players in-game. This could be allies or enemies, so long as they are in your vicinity.
The key difference between voice chat and proximity chat is that to speak, you must be near that player. You can also communicate with players outside your party.
Additionally, as this chat type has a range, it means that players must be physically near each other to communicate.
This feature has been used in Warzone games too.

Does Apex Legends have proximity chat?
Apex Legends does not currently have a proximity chat in-game. Additionally, it doesn't look like Respawn Entertainment is ready to put one into it either.
Being able to chat with enemies can have a negative effect on players who may have to face more toxicity. Moreover, it may provide Apex players with other ways to cheat which could become a big issue.
This is balanced with the entertainment value it can provide, but it seems Respawn have made up their minds for now. However, players are still able to text and chat with their allies, and in a team game, that is particularly important.
