7 Best Platinum Trophies to own on PS5

Earning a platinum trophy is considered by many the peak experience on the PlayStation consoles. Hearing that ping once all other trophies have been unlocked is like a shot of adrenaline that puts a smile on your face.

Many games exist to pad the platinum trophy numbers but they mean much more when the journey there has been more enjoyable or maybe even a massive grind. So here are some of the best PS5 platinum trophies you can earn right now.

7. Marvel's Avengers

Much can be said about Marvel's Avengers and unfortunately, not a lot of it is positive. This is a huge shame because the game has come a long way since its rocky launch and a dedicated core fanbase has ensured feedback given to the developers is acted upon.

It's possibly the biggest grind to achieve on this list, but grabbing the Avengers platinum is something worth doing and well worth shouting about. The satisfying gameplay loop and loot mechanics should make the 80ish hour journey fly by.

6. Spider-Man Miles Morales

Spider-Man on the PS4 was a modern-day classic of a game in every aspect. Miles Morales takes everything the game did right and scales it down for a shorter journey. You'll take on the main storyline, side missions, challenges and track down collectables.

Whereas the Spider-Man platinum would set you back around 30 hours, Miles Morales should only take around half that time but be just as fun to obtain.

5. Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart

Ratchet & Clank is a PlayStation staple by the time the PS5 came around and Rift Apart just reaffirmed why they're so beloved by the community.

Like a few other games on this list, earning the platinum in R&C might not be the hardest challenge you'll face and it's made much sweeter thanks to the quality of the game overall. With a 16.4% platinum percentage, it's the most earned trophy on this list.

4. Hitman 3

The Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy is criminally underrated and with the third instalment is the pinnacle of the series. If you own the two previous games, there are a plethora of trophies on offer in this amazing globe-trotting franchise.

As for just Hitman 3, the trophies are mostly built around playing and discovering new ways to complete the various missions and it's an utter joy to do. There are 2 tricky trophies around Contract mode but even these are made easy with plenty of practice.

3. Hades

I never thought I would include a roguelike on this list but here we are. Hades is an incredible game and it finally came to the PS5 in 2021. This is by far one of the hardest trophies on this list due to the high skill ceiling and time needed to earn it.

That being said, if you are a capable player and love roguelike games, then you probably have no issue with the challenge that lies ahead. At least you have an incredible soundtrack to grind away to as well!

2. Control: Ultimate Edition

Control is Remedy's Magnum Opus and the Ultimate Edition landing on PS5 took that one step further. Not only will you have the pleasure of playing through the incredible story and side missions but the general gameplay mechanics are a delight to learn and master.

Beyond completing the story, all the trophies are based around collecting intel, defeating optional bosses and completing side missions, something you may find yourself wanting to do anyway if you have fun with the game.

1. Astro's Playroom

Well, it turns out the pre-installed Astro's Playroom might have surprised just about anyone who played it. This incredible platformer takes us on a nostalgia trip through the history of PlayStation and it's a joyful experience all around.

It's a satisfying adventure that truly makes the most not only of the PS5 hardware but the DualSense controller too. It's impossible not to be charmed by this game and you won't have to drop a penny to play it.
