Apex Legends could be heading to Nintendo Switch rather soon, if a recent leak is to be believed.
Apex Legends Season 8 is scheduled to start in a matter of weeks on all available platforms.
Nintendo Switch owners might be able to join too, as the battle royale might be coming to Nintendo's platform sooner rather than later.
Apex Legends coming to Switch
Respawn Entertainment has been planning to bring Apex Legends to Nintendo Switch for quite some time.
Last year, the launch was delayed to 2021, but we never got anything more specific than that.
The first-person-shooter landed on Steam at the start of Season 7, but Switch players, unfortunately, had to wait so Respawn could make sure that version was as good as it could be.
Thankfully, it looks like that wait could be shorter than expected.
Switch Release Date Leaked
The Apex Legends News Twitter account has pointed out that the Japanese version of the Tale from the Outlands video introducing new character Fuse on YouTube contains a line mentioning the Switch release date.
According to their translation, it reads: "And on February 2nd, it will be possible to play on Switch at the same time as the start of Season 8."
The English version makes no mention of the Switch, just listing the existing platforms of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on Origin and Steam.

Sometime after this Tweet was put out, the Japanese description on YouTube was changed and the mention of Switch was removed.
Apex Legends Season 8
As with Steam, it's likely the Switch version will coincide with a new season.
Season 8 starts on February 2, bringing the new legend Fuse to the mix, and the usual range of changes and goodies.
For now, we'll have to wait to see how true this is, but you can check out the video showing Fuse's backstory to get excited in the meantime.
