Apex Legends: Switch Version Release Date, 2021 delay, Season 7 & more!

Following the successful Steam launch of the game, all eyes are on Respawn and the Nintendo Switch Edition of Apex Legends.

The new season for Apex Legends launched earlier this week.

The game also arrived on Steam, allowing cross-progression, new cosmetics, and more!

Let’s take a look at the latest word on a Nintendo Switch version of the game, and when we can expect it.

Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch

Chad Grenier, Game Director for Apex Legends, said earlier this year that the team are still working on a port for the Switch version.

Unfortunately, due to the implications caused by coronavirus, this delay was longer than initially anticipated.

Chad, in an EA blog post, said that “in order to do justice to the game and make it into the great experience Switch players deserve, our team needs more time”.

This was then followed the statement that “Switch owners can expect to get their hands on Apex Legends next year”.

With the game delayed until 2021, we are sure that the game will be a well-polished product.

Chad also said that, when the game does release, Apex Legends on Switch will support cross-platform, the latest seasonal content and full feature parity with the other versions.

Season 7 for Apex launched earlier this week, bringing with it the Steam version of the game.

This new season has brought a new map, Olympus, to the game.

Similarly, Respawn have added a new Legend, Horizon and even the game’s first vehicle, the Trident.

Some players have called this season's Battle Pass too much of a grind, with XP and Battle Pass levels extremely difficult to gain.
