Apex Legends Monsters Within: Shadow Royale is back for one week only

Shadow Royale is coming back and we can't wait! Respawn Entertainment is seeing Season 10 out strongly with the Monsters Within event and Shadow Royale is returning for the last week as a cherry on the top. Here's everything you need to know...

LATEST - It's finally back!

Apex Legends' Shadow Royale LTM is back for the last week of the Monsters Within event and we have everything you need to know below.

Specifically, Shadow Royale should be live in-game at around the following times:

  • 08:00 October 26th PST
  • 11:00 October 26th EST
  • 16:00 October 26th BST

This is also when the third week of the Reward Track - with the Loba skin - is due to start. It's the perfect time to jump back into Apex Legends, really...

When does Shadow Royale return to Apex?

Apex Legends' Shadow Royale is only returning to Respawn Entertainment's battle royale for one week, despite the Monsters Within event being a three-week experience.

" The last week of this event features the return of fan-favourite Shadow Royale. Take part in a darker version of the Apex Games, overseen by Revenant with a horrifying twist."

The Monsters Within event is running from October 12th until November 2nd - so, the last week of this event would be from October 26th until November 2nd. We should see further confirmation from Respawn Entertainment closer to the date above.

How does Shadow Royale even work in-game?

Shadow Royale is, as Respawn Entertainment has specified above, the Apex Games with a "horrifying twist".

Shadow Royale games take place on a "Night Mode" variant of an existing Apex Legends map - last time, it was Kings Canyon - and an unusual respawn system that could help you wrangle a win from a tight spot.

SPOOKY - Everyone becomes Revenant in this one

When you die in Shadow Royale, you respawn as a Shadow-Form. When you're in Shadow-Form, you can help your surviving squadmates out as long as one of you is still alive.

As soon as the last living Legend falls, you're out of the game. So... If there's only one of you left, you're going to need to make sure your Shadow-Form squadmates are dropping in to help you out. Shadow-Form lives are infinite, as well, making this an exciting twist on the traditional Apex Legends format.

At the moment, we don't know if a new Apex Legends map is going to be featured in Shadow Royale - Respawn Entertainment should confirm this at a later date.
