With the arrival of the Skyrim Aniversary Edition, we're left with one huge question. Will it come to Xbox Game Pass along with the rest of the Bethesda back catalogue?
Ever since the acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, we're seen plenty of titles joining Game Pass including the Skyrim Special Edition. The additional content available in the Anniversary Edition comes at a cost for owners of the Special Edition but what about Game Pass subscribers?
Is Skyrim Anniversary coming to Game Pass?
The Skyrim Anniversary Edition will NOT be coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch. Fear not at there will be a way to get your hands on it for a reduced cost as a Game Pass subscriber.
If you own the Special Edition of the game, you can upgrade to the Anniversary Edition for more than half the cost of the full game. It will cost $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99 to upgrade.
Luckily, if you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you already have access to the Special Edtion as part of the service. Bethesda will allow you to pay the upgrade cost and have access to the Anniversary Edition content!
We believe very few people will be paying the full retail price for the game given how many probably already own a copy that they can upgrade. If you are buying Skyrim for the first time, it will cost $49.99 / €54.99 / £47.99 at launch.
We're excited to see how the Aniversary Edition potentially changes the game with its visual and gameplay updates. There will be over 500 pieces of Creation Club content included with the game at launch. This is in addition to all previous Special Edition content such as the Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn expansions. Overall there are 100s of hours of content to explore in the game.
