World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Mastery allowed players to play the Vanilla WoW they know and love in a different, much more difficult way.
The mode rid away World Buffs and other similar mechanics that helped players clear content relatively easily in exchange for a much more strenuous experience that gave a different take to the game.
It was set up to be another option to the regular WoW Classic and the newly released, The Burning Crusade Classic. However, now that Wrath of the Lich King Classic is on the horizon, Blizzard has allowed players to transfer their Season of Mastery characters to either Classic or Era or WotLK Classic.
Here are all the details.
How to Transfer Characters in Season of Mastery
As of right now, Blizzard hasn't confirmed how the transferring of Season of Mastery characters will work but if character transfers can serve as any indication, players could possibly expect it to work the same way.
Character transfer in both Classic and TBC Classic work the same way. All a player has to do is log on, click on "Shop" in the bottom left-hand corner, peruse through the available servers, choose the character they want to transfer, and then select their realm of choice to transfer to.
Players can expect to be able to begin transferring their Season of Mastery characters "sometime well after the release of Naxxaramas," according to Blizzard.

Season of Mastery transfer price
Although there aren't many details surrounding the whole process, one thing's for certain, transferring Season of Mastery characters to either Classic or WotLK Classic will be free as confirmed by Blizzard in their initial blue post.
"There will be a way for Season of Mastery characters to transfer to either Classic Era or Wrath of the Lich King Classic," stated WoW Classic Game Producer, Aggrend.
This is a fairly stark contrast to regular Server transfers as they come with a hefty $25 price tag for one a single character transfer, and two bundle prices.

What does this mean for both Classic and WotLK Classic?
Season of Mastery players being able to transfer their characters to either Classic or WotLK Classic could come with heavy implications.
For starters, players who have been able to achieve the more difficult titles in Season of Mastery such as Scarab Lord or Grand Marshall got to benefit from shortened requirements as a byproduct of shortened phases. This means that both Classic and WotLK Classic servers will receive a sudden influx of Scarab Lord and Grand Marshall wielders.
Additionally, it's worth noting that Season of Mastery transfers to Classic were expected to be the next injection of life for the servers. However, now that WotLK Classic is set to be released this year, this might change.
