Naxxramas WoW Classic WotLK Guide

Making its return back by way of the Lich King's will, Naxxramas makes its second appearance in World of Warcraft: Classic during its Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

Together with Eye of Eternity and Obsidian Sanctum, this infamous raid will take part in what is the first PvE-centric test players will encounter in the newest expansion in Classic. It's one of the longer raids in the game's history, add the fact that it's not exactly new, this time around it should come as no surprise.

With that, here's a guide on Naxxramas, including all of its bosses and their mechanics, key loot items, and more.

All Naxxramas Bosses in WoW Classic WotLK

Even though the necropolis made its way over to Northrend, players can still expect the same bosses—and their mechanics—to be within the raid.

PLENTY OF BOSSES: Naxxramas has a total of 15 bosses

It'll be a total of 15 bosses housed within what is now titled Quarters. These are the Arachnid Quarter, the Plague Quarter, the Military Quarter, and the Construct Quarter. Additionally, the raid's final two bosses are still in the Frostwyrm Lair,

Here are the bosses and the quarters they reside in, as well as key mechanics to watch out for both 10-man and 25-man.

The Arachnid Quarter

  • Anub'Rekhan
    • Kill all of the bugs—the adds. These could be the ones that Anub'Rekhan starts with or ones that spawn throughout the fight.
  • Grand Widow Faerlina
    • Kill Followers first, kill Worshippers next to the boss to remove her enrage. In 25-man, Priests will have to Mind Control Worshipers to remove her enrage.
  • Maexxna
    • Break players out of Web Wrap; beat the enrage timer at 30%.

The Plague Quarter

  • Noth the Plaguebringer
    • Remove Curse of the Plaguebringer at all costs—use Mages as needed. Allow Tanks to build threat when the boss blinks as he drops aggro.
  • Heigan the Unclean
    • Ranged and healers stack on the platform, and melee stick with the tanks. When it comes to the dance, start by the entrance you came in and that's it—do the dance!
  • Loatheb
    • Give Fungal Creep buff from the Spore adds to your highest and best DPS. Kill the boss before you die.

The Military Quarter

  • Instructor Razuvious
    • The main tank grabs boss, and the off-tank grabs adds (allow off-tank to build aggro). Use the adds to tank the boss' Unbalancing Strike. For 10-man, use the crystals to Mind Control the adds for 25-man use Priests to Mind Control the adds.
  • Gothik the Harvester
    • Split raid into melee and ranged, with each group having a tank and healers. The melee group goes on the dead side and the ranged group goes on the living. Kills adds on both sides until boss spawns, attack it accordingly on each side until he's accessible to both groups.
  • The Four Horsemen
    • Follow the bosses to their respective corners. Have one tank and healer for Lady Blaumeux and one tank and healer for Sir Zeliek; swap healers between the groups due to debuff stacks. Start on Thane Korth'azz with the main tank and burn him down. From there, move to Baron Rivendare, Lady Blaumeux, and lastly, Sir Zeliek.

The Construct Quarter

  • Patchwerk
    • Bring one main tank and two off-tanks to deal with Hateful Strike. Kill the boss as fast as possible.
  • Grobbulus
    • Ranged and healers stack in the middle of the room while the melee follows the boss as it's moved by the tank around the room as he drops poison. Drop Mutating Injection's poison cloud with the other already-existing poison from the boss.
  • Gluth
    • Tremor Totem for Terrifying Roar; Hunter or Rogue dispel boss Enrage; kill skeleton adds before they reach the boss via Decimate—make sure to kite them away prior.
  • Thaddius
    • Split raid into melee and ranged, with each group having a tank and healers. The melee group kills Feugen while the ranged group kills Stalagg—KILL WITHIN FIVE SECONDS. For the second stage of the fight, assign one side for positive and one for negative. Positive players stay positive and negative with negative. Swap as the Charges swap sides.

Frostwyrm Lair

  • Sapphiron
    • Avoid dragon-type mechanics; remove Curse of the Plaguebringer at all costs—use Mages as needed; avoid Blizzards. After 45 seconds, the boss flies in the air and encases three players in an ice block, use them to line of sight Frost Breath.
  • Ke'Thuzad
    • Phase 1: kill adds as they make their way into the middle of the room, focusing on soldiers.
    • Phase 2: Ranged spread around the room and melee split into two groups. Interrupt Frostbolt; don't stand in Shadow Fissure; move away with Detonate Mana; don't be near Frost Blast targets. For 25-man, the boss will Mind Control random targets, and CC until it wears off.
    • Phase 3: Repeat Phase 2 but this time with extra adds, off-tank and CC them accordingly.

Due to how the raid's layout, players will be able to choose their own path when it comes to which bosses to kill first just like in Vanilla.

Notable Naxxramas Drops in WoW Classic WotLK

Although Classic players will get to see Naxxramas once again, that won't be the case for some of the raid's drops. Items such as the Corrupted Ashbringer, and Splinter of Atiesh are no longer available, and now the raid has shifted over to 10 and 25-man from its original 40-man.

This makes it so there is a myriad of solid loot options.
