Changes have been made regarding World of Warcraft Classic's servers due to extremely long queues and log-in wait times.
Thanks to the increase in popularity, especially with the release of Wrath of the Lich King looming, old and new players alike have been making their way to the other version of the popular MMORPG, giving its servers a run for their money.
In response, Blizzard Entertainment has implemented some changes to help smooth things out, adding new servers, altering server transfers, and even putting up some restrictions.
New Servers in WoW Classic
The developers over at Blizzard have added three brand-new servers in order to combat problems with overpopulation and extended long-in wait times specifically with the US' "mega-realms."
Unlike the Fresh Start realms that were introduced in June for WotLK's release that gave players a fresh and new unique experience, these new servers will have no added benefit and will hold no restrictions. The new servers will only be implemented in the US region for the time being.
These are the servers:
- Skyfury - US West
- Maladath - US East
- Eranikus - US East
Players can embark on a new journey in any of the three aforementioned servers. They can either create a new character or transfer an already-existing one. Eranikus is only accessible via free server transfer from any of the three mega-realms, Benediction, Faerlina, or Grobbulus.
It's worth noting that players can transfer any character regardless of its level to Eranikus and that will free up their ability to create more.

Server Transfer Changes and Restrictions in WoW Classic
In lieu of the ongoing issues with extremely long queues and log-in wait times, Blizzard, apart from adding new realms and servers, has made changes to the transfer process, mainly giving it restrictions.
Free Server Transfers will still remain but will only be available in certain scenarios, mainly from one of the mega-realms to one of the newer ones.
The developers disabled new character creation and incoming paid transfers to the US and EU mega-realms, and they will remain locked indefinitely. This means that no player can create characters in any of the aforementioned US mega-realms and some of the EU ones such as Mograine.
US Servers such as Sulfuras and the recently added Eranikus will be given a special look by Blizzard when it comes to character transfers. Free Character Transfers to Eranikus will undergo the same lense as they begin experiencing log-in queues.
