Who is Mage, Agent 21?

Mage could be the codename of the next agent to be released in Valorant.

There have been several leaks about his code name, official name, and other information for players to look over.

However, most of these have been leaks, so their validity isn't so strong.

But with the recent State of the Agents release, we now have some official information from Riot about the new character that we can delve into.

Leaked identity confirmed?

There have been several leaks about agent 21's name and codename. Varun Batra is his real name but a codename of Mage was also leaked.

In the release, there was still no mention of either of these. Instead, the Riot team referred to him as Agent 21 still.

However, the Indian heritage associated with both of his names was heavily implied with a quote at the end which goes like this...

"Jald hi milte hain."

This translates from Hindi and says something similar to 'See you Soon.'

Agent 21 role confirmed?

Within the small paragraph about the new agent, there was a discussion about a lack of controllers in the game.

It's highly likely that agent 21 will be a controller type after this message. This confirms the leaked info for that.

Agent 21 abilities confirmed?

Agent 21 also had some hints from the dev team at Riot Games about the new Valorant agent's abilities.

"We’ve let this soak long enough, and Agent 21 is almost ready to go out. I don’t want to flood you with too much information in this blurb here, so I’ll hold off on saying much more."

The heavy puns used, a common feature from Riot, highlights that water will be key to this new agent's kit.
