Will The Sims 5 have cars? It's a question we all want to know the answer too.
As a concept and a gameplay feature, The Sims has had an interesting relationship with cars in recent-history.
With them being such a big part of people's day-to-day life, we want to know whether The Sims 5 will right the wrongs of The Sims 4 and include cars in their Life Sim again.
Cars In The Sims
In the original title, cars were but an afterthought for Sims and The Sims players.
If a Sim wanted to get anywhere, they would have to get Taxis or the School Bus. On a few occasions, a Car Pool was seen but Sims never had the chance to own their own vehicles.
The option to buy a vehicle was added in The Sims 2: Nightlife and continued on as a feature in The Sims 3.
Using their own, personal, cars, Sims could visit their friends and/or travel to Community Lots.
This seemed like a solid development of the feature, but then things changed...
Sims 4 Removed Cars?
When The Sims 4 released and EA promised another, even more detailed, exploration into their simulation series, fans were thrilled at the thought of what vehicles they could add to their self-built houses.
However, EA decided against including cars and reverted back to the Taxi/Car Pool method of transportation.

Forums have been discussing the reason why for as long as the game itself has been out.
Some suggest that it is mainly due to the fact that they would only serve a cosmetic purpose in The Sims 4, given that there are no open world capabilities.
Others simply suggest that the current engine is not powerful enough to handle the technological demands afforded by such a feature.
In recent months, EA has added a number of new locations and features to The Sims 4 through some fairly out-there content packs.
Most recently, The Sims 4 Paranormal Pack has added "ghastly roommates", the ability to perform seances, and new skills and career paths.
Cars Can Be Added
There is a lot of scope for vehicles to be added to The Sims 5 and the content expansions that are being added to The Sims 4 attest to that.
Not only that, but there are multiple "Ownable Cars" Mods for The Sims 4 already available.
Currently, The Sims 4 operates on a "Lot-by-Lot" basis. You can only be on one at a time. Cars would bring an Open-World aspect to the game and bring a new degree of freedom to those playing.
In addition to this, cars could be used to bring a number of vehicle-based careers and skills to the table.
Whether that be a Mechanic skill or a career as a Motorcross Racer, bringing vehicles back to The Sims 5 would only help solidify the series' dominance as the best Life Sim out there.

All this aside, a lot of houses have attached garages and driveways nowadays and The Sims players need something to fill the empty space... Right?
Do you think The Sims 5 should have cars? Could they still be added to The Sims 4 in a content pack?
