Building on the Humanrace NMD line, Pharrell Williams and adidas have officially revealed new NMD S1 RYAT shoes as the latest step in their ongoing collaboration.
Rather than sticking to the NMD norm, Pharrell and his Humanrace crew have thought outside the box by basing the RYATs design on some of the best hiking boots around after Williams' found a renewed love and appreciation for the outdoors.
As a result, the NMDs have been given an outdoor makeover which, adidas say, makes them ready for everyday wear thanks to their functional design and a combination of durable materials.

adidas Originals took to Instagram to announce that the new RYAT NMDs are available now as of 2 September 2022.
This release date was also confirmed by adidas News whilst also revealing that the shoes dropped on the CONFIRMED app, online, in-store, and via select retailers.

As mentioned, the RYAT NMDs are unlike what we've seen in the past from Pharrell and adidas as the shoes have been given a hiking boot-esque aesthetic which, we feel, puts them in line to be considered some of the best sneakers for fall around.
Their high-top silhouette combines cardboard brown leather with suede across the uppers, which is then contrasted by light grey tongues and mesh paneling along the sides.
The shoes also feature several highlighter tones to bring a splash of colour to these rough and ready boots. More specifically, you can find hits of bright orange and solar yellow in the midsoles and hidden beneath the TPU cages.
Humanrace branding can then be found on the tongues in the same bright orange hue, whilst the outsoles add another black element into the already rather busy colour scheme.
In terms of technology, the shoes come with the usual BOOST foam in the midsoles to provide ample cushioning atop the rugged rubber outsoles designed to tackle all manner of rough terrain.

The NMD S1 RYATs have been confirmed to cost $250 in adult sizing.
This is more than the usual retail price of a Humanrace x adidas drop. However, the increase in price might be because the shoes are designed to be more of an all-terrain pair of boots rather than a set of lightweight sneakers like we've seen in the past.
