A new signature Air Jordan 8 has been revealed for the Washington Wizards star Rui Hachimura, leaving many basketball fans, particularly Wizards supporters, wondering if Nike has announced the release date yet.
This marks the first signature sneaker release for the 24-year-old; however, it won't be the last as the brand is also planning to release a pair of Rui Hachimura Jordan 36s which already look to be some of the best basketball shoes around.
That being said, we're focusing solely on the signature Jordan 8s in this article. So, without further delay, let's dive in...
Air Jordan 8 Rui Hachimura Release Date
After rumours of a global release on 23 May 2022, we can now confirm that Rui Hachimura's signature Jordan 8s are available now.
Air Jordan 8 Rui Hachimura Design
Much like Hachimura's 36 release, these Jordan 8s feature a unique blend of materials and colours with subtle nods to his Japanese heritage.
The uppers are made from tonal suede and perforated leather inspired by Japanese textile craft, while the 'H' logo on the tongues reprises the role of the chenille material.
In terms of the colours, the palette used is specifically known as Twine, Gym Red, and Black Sesame, with the final two colours dressing accents such as the tongue tabs, interior linings, and the buckles on the ankle straps.
On the reverse side of the tongues, you'll find Japanese letters which correlate to the unique shoebox graphic showcasing Hachimura rising above two anonymous characters.
Hachimura is depicted wearing a special #8 jersey along with his Jordan sneakers, thus helping this particular signature release stand out from the crowd.
Air Jordan 8 Rui Hachimura Price
A men's pair of the Rui Hachimura 8s cost $225.
We'd recommend acting fast to pick up your pair for retail though as these Jordan 8s will likely be highly sought-after, so will probably sell out quick.
Where To Buy The Air Jordan 8 Rui Hachimura
You can find the Rui Hachimura 8s on the SNKRS launch page right now, so we'd recommend checking stock there first.
You could also check out the Nike store under the new releases, basketball, or Jordan subsections, as an alternative place to buy.
If your initial attempt at purchasing a pair through retail is unsuccessful, then we'd suggest keeping an eye on the resale market at StockX once the sneakers drop.
