LATEST - When Does The Next Update Drop?
Rainbow Six Siege's Y6S2 update is coming out on June 14th, later today, and will be available on all platforms. The New Operator Is A Healer?
Mina "Thunderbird" Sky has been confirmed as the next Operator to be added to Rainbow Six Siege's roster of characters in Operation North Star. She's a Helicopter Pilot interested in Hydrology with a knack for saving lives and healing people.
We have confirmation that her equipment and weapons loadout is as follows:
- Movement: 3 Speed
- Primary Weapon: Spear.308 / SPAS-15
- Secondary Weapon: Q-929 / BEARING-9
- Throwable: Impact Grenade / C4
- Gadget: 3x Kona Station
This is quite aggressive for a Defender and many are claiming that it will make her one of the best Defender Operators in the game!
We have to wait and see, though, but her Kona Station certainly sounds like a useful Gadget. This does spell disaster to Attackers though as this now gives the Defenders two healers.
Favela Map Changes
Although we don't know a lot about the exact details of the Favela map changes coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Operation North Star, we do know some of what's going on.
- Favela is now a night-based map, with Fireworks exploding overhead to offer bursts of brighter light;
- Most of the external destructibility has been removed from the map;
- Meth Lab has been replaced by crypto-mining Coin Room;
- Attackers' choke points reworked;
- Defenders' roaming options reevaluated;
- Internal colours toned down/muted;
The updated map is going to be added to Siege's Test Servers from May 25th and we're expecting to see more from Ubisoft about it soon.
