July 2021's PS Plus announcement have just arrived and they bring some interesting choices with it.
It definitely beats this month's Xbox's Games With Gold announcement but not by as much as we expected. Here's what we will see when the free PS Plus games drop next month.
Here's Your PS Plus Games For Next Month
Next month, you will see A Plague Tale Innocence, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds.
These games fit somewhere in the middle of the pack, in comparison to previous months.
PS Plus Announcement Time
In recent months, Sony has been a little inconsistent with their PS Plus announcements. However, for the most part, we are expecting to see them revealed on the last Wednesday of the month. This is the traditional slot for Sony and we'd like to hope that counts for something going forwards.
This means, as we're entering the latter half of the month, we could see the next free PS Plus games for July 2021 announced as early as June 30th. As for a specific time, it's usually around 08:30 PST / 11:30 EST / 16:30 BST.
Here's last month's announcement of an example of what we're expecting...
When Are The Free Games Released?
Following this, Sony usually releases its next batch of free PS Plus games on the first Tuesday of every month. We can also figure out when they are released by looking at when the current slate of titles is due to leave the service.
Whichever method you prefer, they both point to the same date: July 6th.
The games themselves are usually available at 00:00 Local Time, too! So, there's no waiting around when we hit release day (with any luck!) The following are our original predictions for next month.
What Might We See?
At the moment, we don't know for sure what we're going to see. However, we do have one title to talk about...
A Plague Tale: Innocence recently announced that it's going to be getting a native next-gen release and free upgrade. This is due to release on July 6th. What a coincidence!
Both Control and Wreckfest, in recent months, were added as free PS Plus games for PS5 players when their native next-gen versions released. Could we see A Plague Tale: Innocence added to this list of titles? Only time will tell, but it could well be...
If we're lucky, the PS4 version (with a free PS5 upgrade) could be included and we could see another PS5 title added. Here's hoping.
