God of War Ragnarok is one of the very biggest PlayStation exclusives of the decade and the game really need enough time to justify all the hype. Luckily, with a confirmed 2022 release window and the potential of a new State of Play, it seems to be coming soon. Here's what we know so far.
The Rumours
Over the last week, three main things have been rumoured. It is said that we will get the reveal of Project Spartacus this week, an announcement for the next State of Play and hints at a new acquisition.
Needless to say, these are just rumours right now. All three could be shown to be entirely made up but they have been lent some credence by big names. First, Bloomberg confirmed something about Project Spartacus and Kinda Funny's Greg Miller even cancelled his regular PlayStation themed show as he believed they could be true.
As of time of cancellation, the Project Spartacus rumours were somewhat substantiated so it seems likely he is reacting to the other two here. if this is the case, we could be up for a very big week with God of War Ragnarok.
Still Coming in 2022
To add to this even more, right after these rumours surfaced, Sony Santa Monica's community managed tweeted that God of War Ragnarok was still coming out in 2022. These two events feel like too much of a coincidence to not be related in some way.
It seems very likely that we will soon see a PlayStation State of Play announcing the official release date for God of War Ragnarok.
What could this mean?
E3 has been cancelled this year, giving publishers free reign to put out their big news whenever they like. This means that tonnes of news like this is likely to come out over the next few months.
Expect even more rumours to make the rounds soon - they are far from over. If anything else happens, we will update you right here.
