eFootball 2023: Oliver Kahn amongst three Bayern Munich legends to be handed Epic cards

Konami's eFootball has finally made the transition from the 2022 version to eFootball 2023 and we couldn't be more excited!

The official eFootball Twitter page has revealed the latest legends to be handed Epic cards in eFootball 2023.

Check out who has claimed the honours and their ratings below.

Terrific Bayern Trio

Three ex-Bayern Munich stars have been selected for Epic cards this week.

Regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, Oliver Kahn's individual contributions have earned him a record four consecutive UEFA Best European Goalkeeper awards, as well as three IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper awards and two German Footballer of the Year trophies.

The German 'keeper has been handed an 86 OVR Epic card in eFootball.

Former Germany international forward Uli Hoenes has been given an 81 OVR Epic card, having won both the World Cup and European Championships with his national side.

Having racked up 97 caps for the France national team, former Bayern Munich and Bordeaux left-back, Bixente Lizarazu, has been given a 79 OVR card.

What are Epic cards?

The eFootball Twitter account recently revealed that a brand new card category will be coming to the game: Epic.

As far as we understand, Epic cards will be legendary players who have the potential for growth on top of their original rating.

The first three Epic cards were handed to midfield legends, Wesley Sneijder (OVR 83), Dennis Bergkamp (OVR 82) and Lothar Matthaus (OVR 83).

The number shown on each card represents the overall rating of that player at Level 1.

Please note, that if it is a player type that cannot be developed, it is the overall rating at the time of signing.

The overall rating can be affected by various factors, including the Team Playstyle Level and whether the player is placed in a position in which he is proficient.
