eFootball 2022 confirmed clubs
Thanks to the Roadmap, we now know the nine clubs which are confirmed to be included in eFootball 2022.
The nine clubs confirmed so far are:
- Barcelona
- Bayern Munich
- Juventus
- Manchester United
- Arsenal
- Corinthians
- Flamengo
- Sao Paulo
- River Plate
These teams are the only ones that will be available at the time of launch, via "Local Match".
This is because eFootball 2022 will essentially go live in Demo form originally.
Likely future clubs
Despite only nine clubs being officially confirmed so far, we know of several more that EA will have likely secured the licenses to.
Boca Juniors
Boca Juniors were exclusive to Konami's PES 2021, so we expect this to remain the same heading into eFootball 2022.
Napoli
Napoli joined the franchise as an official partner, in a licensing agreement that will become exclusive for the 2022/23 season.
Konami has also secured naming rights for Napoli's training centre, which will feature a brand new gaming area for players and guests.
Roma
The AS Roma team name, crest and official kits will likely be fully exclusive to the eFootball 2022, as they were in PES 2021.
The long-time home of AS Roma, Stadio Olimpico, will probably be included in eFootball 2022 too.
Atalanta
Konami has a long-term exclusive partnership agreement with Atalanta in place.
This exclusive deal means that FIFA 22 will no longer include the official Atalanta team name, crest, kits and player names.
Schalke
Schalke was one of few German clubs to feature in PES 2021.
So, we think Konami will have most likely kept hold of the licenses to FC Schalke 04, whilst targetting more clubs from the Bundesliga.
Celtic
Celtic has been a partner of Konami's for several years now.
eFootball 2022 will also have exclusive rights to Celtic's stadium, Celtic Park.
Rangers
Like Celtic, Rangers are also partnered with Konami for eFootball 2022, with the Ibrox Stadium to feature only in Konami's new game.
MLS players secured for eFootball 2022
Konami has revealed that 11 MLS players have been signed up as eFootball ambassadors!
Watch the official eFootball MLS trailer below:
It must be noted that there is no mention of any teams being licensed in the trailer.
Whatever the agreement entails, it looks as though the MLS players themselves will be included in the game on a 'multiyear video game agreement'.
