Overwatch 2 has been confirmed to appear on the Xbox Games Pass after Xbox have acquired Activision Blizzard.
The countdown for the game has been brilliant and fans are still getting ready for the release date of October 4 2022.
As the game is free-to-play, Blizzard is expecting many more players than the first game. Which was whittled down with age.
This will also help with the Pass where the new sequel is expected to appear from.
So, let's see what Overwatch will look like on the Xbox Games Pass and how this came about.

The announcement
Phil Spencer announced that Overwatch 2 and a host of other games will all be coming to the Xbox Games Pass in a blog post.
The blog post also discussed the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and why that is the reason for the Game Pass move.
Not only did he speak about the sequel, but also hinted about future games. He intends to add more games by Activision Blizzard too.
Will Overwatch 2 be on the Xbox cloud gaming?
So far, there have not been any announcements of the game joining the beta cloud gaming service.
However, it can be highly expected that this is a yes. With Xbox expanding to own more gaming companies, putting the new sequel on there would bring more traffic.
Will Overwatch 2 be available on Xbox Games Pass at release?
Once again, the blog post from Phil Spencer did not mention whether the game will be available at release or not.
When wording the post he stated...
"We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities"
The word 'intent' perhaps eludes to the fact that this is not yet possible and won't be on release.
However, there is no solid evidence either way. Fans will have to wait for that sweet sweet release on October 4 2022.
