The newest Pokemon game, Pokemon Unite, is almost here!
In just a few hours, we can finally try a 5v5 battle in Pokemon, MOBA style.
Here's what we know so far about Pokemon Unite and its release time.
Pre Download Available Now
The upcoming free-to-play MOBA debuts on the Nintendo Switch, and eventually mobile platforms (with rumors pointing to a September release).
You can now pre download the game for the Nintendo Switch, through the eShop. The game's file size is around 928 MB, significantly smaller than the usual Pokemon games.
Release Time
The Pokemon Unite release time will be 3:00 am EST (8am BST) on Wednesday, July 21st.
If you predownload the game, you'll be ready right when it finally goes live!
Pokemon Unite is First Pokemon MOBA
As we reported earlier, this will be the first MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game for the Pokemon franchise. The cuteness of the pocket monsters will meet DOtA and League of Legends, so this is really something many anime fans and gamers can look forward to.
The game will be held in Aeos Island. Here, players will meet the Unite Battle Committee (UBC), which runs a series of Unite Battle tournaments.
In Unite Battles, players form teams of five and compete against each other to see who can score the most points before time runs out. Players will be introduced to a mysterious new form of energy, called Aeos energy.
As trainers, you also get to customize your looks with various options. Play and dress the part, indeed!
What To Expect
Playable characters have been announced and there have been teasers on the role classifications and powers the Pokemon have.
The Pokemon will be divided into five different roles: attacker, defender, speedster, supporter, and all around.
So trainers, are you ready for Pokemon Unite?
