Set pieces are one of the great equalisers in football. Size, strength, and power just for a moment overcome dribbling and passing skills. A taller team can be dominant from corners, and a tall striker is a constant menace for defenders.
In this article we are looking at tall strikers in FIFA 19 career mode. These are players with a primary position of either striker (ST) or centre forward (CF) and are 6'5" or taller. Unfortunately, you can't search specifically for height in FIFA 19 career mode, but you don't need to as we have found all the tallest strikers in the game.
For all players 6’5″ and above, visit the table at the end of this page.
Peter Crouch (OVR 73 - POT 73)
Height: 6'7"
Age: 37
Position: ST
Club: Stoke City
Country: England
Work rate: Medium/Medium
Best stats: 85 heading accuracy, 83 volleys, 81 positioning
Cost: £1 million
Wage: £30,000 a week
Peter Crouch is still playing at 37, and is extremely tall. At 6'7" the ex-England man is the tallest striker in FIFA 19. The veteran has 108 Premier League goals to his name across six clubs and won 42 caps with England, scoring 22 times.
85 heading accuracy coupled with his height makes Crouch an incredible aerial threat. Aged 37, it is a race against time to snap up the former QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich, Southampton, Liverpool and Tottenham forward. £1 million is all you need with wages of £30,000 a week.
Paul Ebere Onuachu (OVR 70 - POT 73)
Height: 6'7"
Age: 24
Position: ST
Club: Midtjylland
Country: Nigeria
Work rate: High/Medium
Best stats: 82 strength, 77 sprint speed, 73 heading accuracy
Cost: £3.3 million
Wage: £14,000 a week
Paul Ebere Onuachu has played over 100 games for FC Midtjylland, scoring 34 goals for them, and has represented Nigeria at U21 level.
In FIFA 19 he is a very strong player (82 strength) who also has enough burst to get to a loose ball or onto the end of a cross (77 sprint speed). He is solid in the air (73 heading accuracy) so don't be frightened to make a move for his 70 overall with 73 potential.
Henk Veerman (OVR 69 - POT 70)
Height: 6'7"
Age: 27
Position: ST
Club: St. Pauli
Country: Netherlands
Work rate: Medium/Low
Best stats: 92 strength, 76 shot power, 74 heading accuracy
Cost: £1.8 million
Wage: £11,000 a week
Henk Veerman played 94 times for SC Heerenveen, scoring 17 goals, before moving to St. Pauli this summer. Since arriving he has bagged three goals in six games.
Veerman has terrific strength (92) in FIFA 19, making him an excellent target man to hold up play and allow the rest of the team to advance up. A 69 overall and 70 potential will cost you £1.8 million with wages of £11,000 a week.
Simon Makienok (OVR 68 - POT 69)
Height: 6'7"
Age: 27
Position: ST
Club: Utrecht
Country: Denmark
Work rate: Medium/Low
Best stats: 90 strength, 84 heading accuracy, 73 stamina
Cost: £1.4 million (release clause)
Wage: £11,000 a week
Simon Makienok made his professional debut for Herfolge in 2008, and has since stretched his wings to Palermo, Charlton, Preston, and currently plays for Utrecht. He's also been capped six times by Denmark.
Makienok is a strong player (90 strength) and isn't too bad with the ball at his feet either (70 ball control, 59 dribbling). Most importantly though, he is excellent in the air (84 heading accuracy, 67 jumping) and has enough stamina (73) to play a full game fairly comfortably.
Tomas Chory (OVR 61 - POT 66)
Height: 6'7"
Age: 23
Position: ST
Club: Viktoria Plzen
Country: Czech Republic
Work rate: Medium/Medium
Best stats: 95 strength, 90 heading accuracy, 64 reactions
Cost: £701,000 (release clause)
Wage: £880 a week
Tomas Chory joined Viktoria Plzen in January 2018 from Sigma Olomouc and has already played 17 league games for them. He was also capped at U21 level for the Czech Republic.
A remarkably strong player (95 strength) Chory can hold off defenders all day, and he is also great in the air (80 heading accuracy) but that is where the story ends. £701,000 and wages of only £880 will get you the 61-rated forward and 66 potential.
Mathias Kristensen (OVR 56 - POT 60)
Height: 6'7"
Age: 25
Position: ST
Club: AC Horsens
Country: Denmark
Work rate: Medium/Medium
Best stats: 77 strength, 64 heading accuracy, 61 shot power
Cost: £140,000 (release clause)
Wage: £2,000 a week
Mathias Kristensen started his career with Nykobing in Denmark, but is now with AC Horsens who he signed with in January 2018.
Kristensen leaves a lot to be desired, but if you play to the 6'7" strengths, he is still a real asset. 77 strength, 64 heading accuracy and 61 short power means you must pump some lofted balls into the box. £140,000 and wages of £2,000 a week will get you the Dane.
Wout Weghorst (OVR 77 - POT 79)
Height: 6'6"
Age: 26
Position: ST
Club: Wolfsburg
Country: Netherlands
Work rate: High/High
Best stats: 86 strength, 84 stamina, 84 heading accuracy
Cost: £12.7 million
Wage: £44,000 a week
Wout Weghorst joined Wolfsburg in July 2018 for £9.45 million from AZ Alkmaar. Wolfsburg are his first club outside of the Netherlands after he started his career with Deto Vriezenveen. He has also been capped three times by the Netherlands, but is yet to get off the mark for the full national side.
Weghorst is a very strong option and probably the best all round tall striker in the game. He has good physicality (86 strength, 84 stamina) and is great in the air (84 heading accuracy). He can also play the ball on the ground and put it in the back of the net (79 finishing, 76 ball control). He's not bad at playing others in either (70 short pass).
Simy (OVR 72 - POT 75)
Height: 6'6"
Age: 26
Position: ST
Club: Crotone
Country: Nigeria
Work rate: Medium/Low
Best stats: 89 strength, 81 heading accuracy, 79 aggression
Cost: £4.2 million
Wage: £4,000 a week
Simy joined Serie B side Crotone in 2016 from Portuguese side Portimonense. He's made 54 appearances for Crotone and scored 12 times. He also made his debut for Nigeria this season and has won four caps to date.
In FIFA 19 Simy is a solid player. He has good strength (89), is good in the air (81 heading accuracy) and also has solid finishing (77). Those abilities take him to a 72 overall with a 75 potential, costing £4.2 million and wages of £4,000 a week.
Zinho Gano (OVR 71 - POT 75)
Height: 6'6"
Age: 24
Position: ST
Club: Genk
Country: Belgium
Work rate: Medium/Low
Best stats: 91 strength, 76 heading accuracy, 71 finishing
Cost: £3.4 million
Wage: £10,000 a week
Zinho Gano has bounced around Belgium thanks to a few loan spells from Club Brugge, but he left them in July 2015 and arrived with Genk in July of this year. He has scored just once for them so far. He was only capped up to U19 level for Belgium.
Gano has terrific strength (91) to allow him to hold off defenders. He is also solid in the air (76 heading accuracy, 71 finishing) so you should consider the £3.4 million fee and £10,000 weekly wage for the 71 rated striker.
Kalifa Coulibaly (OVR 71 - POT 72)
Height: 6'6"
Age: 27
Position: ST
Club: Nantes
Country: Mali
Work rate: Medium/Medium
Best stats: 83 strength, 81 heading accuracy, 73 finishing
Cost: £4.9 million
Wage: 17,000 a week
Kalifa Coulibaly started his career with Real Bamako before having a spell with PSG in the reserves and then bouncing around the French leagues. He found a home at Nantes in 2017 and has been capped 11 times by Mali, scoring once.
Coulibaly is everything you want from a tall striker. He is strong enough to hold off defenders (83) is good in the air (81 heading accuracy) and can score too (73 shot power, 73 finishing).
