The Atlanta Hawks come in to this year as a rebuilding squad after being one of the bottom teams in the league last season. They are not likely to see much improvement as far as wins go, but they are hoping to get improved production out of some young core pieces.
Starting Lineup
Trae Young, PG (OVR 77)
Age: 18
Height: 6’2”
Traits: Offensive Star
Best Stats: Ball Handling, 3pt, Passing
Trae Young is an up and coming rookie for the Atlanta Hawks. Untested, a possible diamond in the rough, he’ll be looking to buff up the lineup of talented players with his strong, offensive mastery of handling and passing, while also being a threat to the 3pt range.
Jeremy Lin, SG (OVR 78)
Age: 30
Height: 6’3”
Traits: Offensive Star
Best Attributes: Ball Handling, Mid-range shooting, Stamina
Linsanity is a player that many NBA faithful are familiar with. Having risen to stardom and now struggled to stay relevant, Lin finds himself on a new squad this year. Last season was cut short due to injury, but Lin’s presence this season will mostly depend on how quick rookie Trae Young can get up to speed. He totaled 18 points and 4 assists in the single game he was able to play last season.
Kent Bazemore, SF (OVR 77)
Age: 29
Height: 6’5”
Traits: Lockdown Defender
Best Stats: Steals, Vertical Lateral Quickness
Bazemore is quick and athletic, but struggles with consistency and efficiency. Last season, he averaged 12.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He is a quality defender, having averaged 1.5 steals per game, but will look to be more efficient from the field this season.
Taurean Prince, PF (OVR 79)
Age: 24
Height: 6’8”
Traits: Two-Way Wing
Best Stats: Vertical, Lateral Quickness, Speed
It did not take long for Prince to carve out a starting role on this Hawks team. With the franchise looking to rebuild with young pieces, Prince was able to start last season and average 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists over a full 82-game season.
John Collins, C (OVR 79)
Age: 21
Height: 6’10”
Traits: Rebounding Specialist
Best Stats: Vertical, Rebounding, Dunks
John Collins finds himself firmly on the breakout radar this season and he finds himself coming in to the season as the Hawks top frontcourt player. His averages from last season of 10.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists are far from special, but his flashes of potential late in the year have got the Atlanta faithful hoping he breaks out this year.
