Unknown Worlds Entertainment's upcoming Subnautica sequel has had a strange life cycle. It started out as a paid expansion for Subnautica a couple of years ago; however, everyone liked the idea so much they chose to develop it as a full-blown sequel.
It's been in Early Access on Steam since 2019 and now we're finally approaching the full and final release of Subnautica Below Zero on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch too!
We know Subnautica is on Xbox Game Pass at the moment, but will you be able to play Subnautica Below Zero with Xbox Game Pass?
Is Subnautica Below Zero on Game Pass?
Yeah... We hate to break this to you but the answer is no. It will not be on Xbox's Game Pass subscription at launch.
It might be worth keeping an eye on Xbox's Game Pass social media channels in case there is a surprise announcement, but from looking at the official Xbox.com page for Subnautica Below Zero, there is no mention of it.
Subnautica Below Zero will feature Series X|S optimisation, though. This means it will run at a smooth 60 Frames per Second and feature 4K Ultra HD fidelity. The Xbox Series X can even handle up to 120 FPS if you have a display capable of that!
" Submerge yourself in an all-new, sub-zero expedition in an arctic region of Planet 4546B. Arriving with little more than your wits and some survival equipment, you set out to investigate what happened to your sister..."
