With the new Season of Light for Pokémon GO now underway, it's about time we got our first in-game event for the new storyline, letting players travel across the globe and catch special kinds of Pokémon.
This first event sees a return of a fan favourite as The Psychic Spectacular is back, focusing on the Pokémon who fully believe in the brain vs brawn argument with their mysterious powers.

Psychic Spectacular Start/End Time
Like all in-game events, the Psychic spectacular event is only available for a limited time, starting on Tuesday, 6th September 2022 and running until it ends on Monday, 12th September 2022 so be sure to get in and complete some quests while you can.
Timed Research - Elgyem and Curveballs
This event's timed research is all about the curveballs and landing as many of them as possible. With a total of 42 curveballs needed to complete the task, we suggest throwing on incense and throwing curveballs at anything that moves to quickly rack up the quest rewards.
Speaking of which, every quest reward for this line of quests is an encounter with an Elgyem and if you're very lucky, you may even get a perfect or shiny one to add to your collection.
Field Research Encounters
As is the case with every in-game event, Psychic Spectacular will also see some field research tasks appear throughout the event with some event-exclusive research encounters. Those are listed below, Pokémon with (S) next to their names have the possibility to be shiny:

Wild Pokémon Go Encounters
As always, these events are defined by the Pokemon that have increased encounter odds throughout its duration and naturally, it's psychic Pokémon that are getting the boost. Here are all of them:

There will also be a selection of raids available during the Psychic Spectacular Pokémon GO date, with a dedicated raid day for Deoxys taking place on Sunday, 11th September 2022 between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time.
