If you're trying to increase your proficiency with a Bow in New World then you're likely running into a very simple issue, how do you find feathers to craft arrows?
Crafting is a huge part of New World and sure, you can just buy them at a trading post but they're pretty expensive at the minute. So we're going to show you a simple(ish) way to find your own and save some money.
How to find Feathers in New World
Feathers are a common crafting resource found on Turkeys in New World. The first time you'll stumble across Turkeys is once you take on some of the early Faction missions. You will be sent to Crone's Rest to take care of some of 'The Withered'.
On this farmlike complex, there are a couple of Turkeys just roaming about. The main problem here is that from what I can see, there are only ever one or two at a time. They're fairly mobile but only take one hit to kill.
Now for the truly hard part... getting the feathers! In New World, anyone can gather resources from an animal you kill, meaning if you aren't the first person to interact with a dead Turkey, you won't be getting the feathers.
It's best to make sure you kill Turkeys up close and can instantly interact with the corpse. If successful, you should be able to pull around 5 feathers from each animal. You need 3 feathers to craft 50 arrows of any type.
If you manage to kill a few Turkeys and collect a decent amount of feathers, consider taking some to the Trading Post and letting other players buy them. Given how tricky it currently is to harvest them, a fair amount of gold can be earned from selling them (even with tax taken into consideration).
