Can You Use Cheats in Clash of Clans?

Since Clash of Clans was released in 2012, players waiting for Gems have certainly asked themselves: 'are there cheats for this?'

Cheating to get an edge on other players has been done for years, has it been done in Clash of Clans yet? Let's dive in.

Can You Use Cheats in Clash of Clans?

Short answer: no, not really. Cheat codes aren't something Supercell have introduced to the game.

With any online multiplayer games, cheating is difficult, risky, and usually not worthwhile. 

Throughout the game's history, dozens of ‘exploits’ have been shown by YouTubers.

Almost all of these have been done through modding the game itself. Meaning it’s not on live-servers. These mods can be harmless – mostly just altering the game to allow the player to get in-app purchases without paying for them. 

Is the modded version any fun? No. According to players, the modded version of the game is boring as you’re removing the challenge of the game.

Turns out having millions of gems isn’t fun if you’re unable to use them for anything. Who’d have thought? 

Can You Use Unorthodox Cheats?

Games with massive content updates and regular server connectivity are distinctly hard to crack. New exploits players find can be revoked and sometimes punished by new updates. 

The main problem with cheating in an online game is that you can never really alter the data through whatever device you use as everything is stored on live servers and updated in real-time.

So, any changes you make through external methods are pretty much void and most of the time could result in bans.

So to put it simply: No, you can’t use cheats in Clash of Clans.
