Bayonetta 3 Development "Progressing Smoothly" Despite Three Years Passing Since Announcement

Bayonetta 3 was revealed more than three years ago at The Game Awards and since then we haven't received a single update on the game from Nintendo or Platinum Games.

Well, the studio has now provided a small piece of information for fans, clarifying that development is still ongoing and going smoothly.

Bayonetta 3 Development Progressing Smoothly According To Developer

Speaking with Famitsu (via VGC), Hideki Kamiya, a designer at Platinum Games stated that fans really shouldn't be worrying about not hearing an update on the game.

"There are many people who are worried about Bayonetta 3 because there has been no new information since its original announcement, but the verification of new systems has been successful and the development is progressing smoothly, so please don’t worry".

The game is set to be one of Platinum Games' biggest titles in years and it is likely development has been thorough and rigorous to ensure all the systems and mechanics of it work as intended and that the game can live up to the ambitions and hopes of fans.

Kamiya has previously provided statements similar to this, reassuring fans, but it is clear that the hunger for the game is there. Hopefully, we won't have to wait long to see the game again.

Bayonetta 3 will be the biggest title in the franchise yet according to Platinum Games.

Set to be a Nintendo Switch exclusive title, Bayonetta 3 will continue the story of the titular hero and takes us to new places, fighting with fresh stylish moves. We have very little information about the title as of now.

Alongside Bayonetta 3, Platinum Games is also working on Babylon's Fall, a PC and PS4 game, which has also been relatively silent for over a year, with only a brief look at gameplay and no updates beyond that.

The studio is also early in development on Project GG, which is pitched as the conclusion to the developer's superhero trilogy, which incorporates Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101.

Project GG is described as a game unlike anything Platinum Games has done before

Bayonetta 1 was originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 before making the jump to PS4 as a part of the collection with Vanquish. The game also came to Nintendo Switch alongside Bayonetta 2, which was exclusive to Wii U and later came to the Nintendo Switch.

Bayonetta then cemented her place on Nintendo's systems with an appearance in Super Smash Bros. as a playable character and is also in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
